Sunday Scaries Vol. 6

Sunday Scaries Volume 6. Live from the tuna den.

1. Can it Be All So Simple - Wu-Tang Clan

One of my favorite songs from "Enter The Wu-Tang". In it, RZA samples "The Way We Were" by Gladys Knight & The Pips, which I found out when a friend of mine was playing it a few weeks ago. I like "Can it Be All So Simple" because it tells the story of the Wu-Tang clan. Where they started, how far they've come, and what they still were wishing to accomplish at the time of it's release. The music ends around the five minute mark, but the "Intermission" that follows is a must-listen. It features an interview in which Method Man describes each member of the Wu-Tang clan. We form like Voltron and GZA just happen to be the head.

2. Best Me (Remix) - Sylvan LaCue feat. Saba

Quality jam from Miami MC Sylvan LaCue. It's a remix of his original song, and has a verse from Saba that is absolutely killer.

3. 40 In April - Soft Glas

Cool instrumental I found on SoundCloud a while back. Soft Glas has some other unique tunes on his SoundCloud that are definitely worth a listen.

4. Problems - Dominique prod. Vartikar

When I first got back to school, my club threw a big party to welcome everyone back. Kenny Okagaki, who produces under the name "trapanese," was the DJ, and honestly I've never seen anyone do a better job in person. I Introduced myself and we started sending each other some music we'd been making so we could get some notes on 'em. Kenny then introduced me to his roommate Dylan Vartikar because he's more on the hip-hop side of the spectrum, and Dylan has mad skills. He produced this song for Dominique, who's in grad school at Harvard. It rips.

5. Mama Said - Cat Clyde

Felly introduced me to Ontario native Cat Clyde over the summer, and she's got a really cool sound. She released her album "Ivory Castanets" in May. Go get acquainted.

6. Depends - MadeinTYO

Every since Uber Everywhere, MadeinTYO has been killing. He was picked as 2017 XXL Freshman, and released his mixtape "True's World" just a few months ago. "Depends" is from that tape. MadeinTYO is a favorite among the washed gang, and we're excited to see where he goes from here.

7. The New Cupid - BJ The Chicago Kid

BJ The Chicago Kid is an incredible artist. He's played a massive role in countless bangers over the past couple years, like Anderson .Paak's "The Waters" and "Studio" by Schoolboy Q. "The New Cupid" is a song off his 2016 album "In My Mind.," and low-key it features one of my favorite verses from Kendrick Lamar. As I, play out the commodores...

8. One of These Nights - The Eagles

My latest Eagles addiction.

I've been searching for the daughter of the devil himself.

I've been searching for an angel in white.

I've been waitin' for a woman who's a little of both, and I can feel her but she's nowhere in sight.
